yeah, where can I get a drag gen 3 kit for cheap? Sell my 8 PSI JR kit and I just need to safe a few bucks. Now who can smog my car in Cali for me? If anyone is good with "fixing laws" to make Turbos legal in the eyes of the law, let me know. I'm investigating the move.

That is some pretty crazy power, but how long will it last???? Not that I wouldn't love to have that power on tap but it is hard enough to play nice with 8 SC lb's on tap. Besides the shortage of funds to pay the *up keep" on a turbo I also would like to see my car last as long as it can on the SC and then rebuild and go the 12psi + NOS route http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif OFF/ON http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

isn't 9-10 psi the upper limit of the stock injectors on a b18c? thats some awesome power you made though .. but is it safe to push 9-10 psi w/ stock injectors daily?
-
Well then what does the Drag kit use for fuel supply and metering? There is no way the stock injectors alone can support 320hp (~380 at the crank) at any reasonable a/f ratio. Does it come with an additional injector or two? How much boost was it set to? What did the a/f ratio look like over the rpm range? What fuel pump(s) and/or injectors does the DRAG kit come with?
I'm not disputing the results, in fact I think they are rather reasonable. But I have literally NO info on the DRAG kit and what is supplied with it, so I'd like to know how they plan on supporting these HP levels.
-
Turbo00 I'm not insulted at all. I've seen the Drag III kit and I agree. Watch your wastegate though.
Silvino I got something to email ya. The wastegate dump routed back into the downpipe is one. Turning the boost down to very low levels is another. Of course you'll need a boost and fuel controller like the Apexi stuff. That way you could have it set low and it works together.
You want closest to stock settings as possible. I live in Atlanta and last summer our smog was worse than Calis. It was on the news. Our emission laws are just as bad...almost.

I never thought that it was the actual emissions that turbo cars fail, I thought it was that it would never pass the visual inspection which is a big thing here in California. The moment they open your engine, they look for all the carb numbers for the parts that aren't suppose to be there. I can't imagine any qualified mechanic that would overlook a turbo and wastegate staring up at you from the turbo manifold.

That much power from 7 PSI? I thought about 250 WHP was a good Turbo run for 7 PSI and 10 PSI being somewhere around 280-290. I believe Turbos can do it but with so low boost, it's pretty amazing.

Can you please describe conditions on the dyno--what fuel octane used, boost, a/f ratio, the fuel system and control, timing control, etc.
The dyno is not a fraud, the axes are a different scale on each side. The torque curve is very representative of a blown GSR, although the torque peak is quite high and late in the RPM range. Enough boost will do that.
-
Well my exhaust wasn't disconnected and i had no timing, no fuel controller and i was using pump gas 92octane and the waste gate is the stock delta gate that comes with the kit. Like i said NOTHING BUT THE DRAG KIT!!!!

Does the Gen3 Drag kit vent to atmosphere?
